Aloha, this may be a shock to many of you but let me be honest, I am not a sushi person.

I have only had sushi once in my life (that too it was merely a piece of tuna roll) on my 22nd birthday dinner with my close friends. Hence today, I took the decision to have a full plate of sushi by myself to determine with I, in fact, like sushi or should I just forget about it and the best sushi place in Port Elizabeth is John Dory's franchises.
Certain John Dory's franchises have this indefinite promotion where you can either have 3 types of sushi and a side or two main dishes and a side for only R99 (about $8.50), hence I opted for the two main dishes (100g hake and 250g of calamari) with side of golden crispy fries, and additional deep-fried futomaki sushi on the side.
Now you may be wondering what is the Deep-fried Futomaki sushi? It is 3 crispy tempura-battered maki rolls filled with tuna, salmon, prawn, cucumber and avo complemented by sweet chilli sauce and Kewpie mayo. So I have been told that was my rookie mistake, choosing "deep-fried" sushi. I will give sushi (raw sushi) a chance but after today's sushi adventures, I can say with absolute certainty that i am not a su-she (sushi loving person), I could tolerate and somewhat enjoy the sushi pieces I had, but sushi is an acquired taste I will get used to, and I don't mind not acquiring it!
