Hey guys!
I trust you all had a wonderful weekend filled with all weekend festivities that you guys enjoy.
So this past Friday, my best friends Maria and Simran decided to spoil me and take me to an Asian themed restaurant called Suki 6th Avenue Walmer. I've never mentioned it in this blog but I have mentioned it on my Instagram account as well as my personal blog about my life that I'm a bit sceptic when it comes to Asian themed restaurants about their food. Mainly because they have various contrasting flavours in one dish so I'm worried about the taste also because my first experience at a young age with a Chinese restaurant threw me off about Asian restaurants food.

This place actually has amazing if not aesthetic decoration and you can even feel the serenity of the Japanese culture exuded in the restaurant. I thought it was going to be a bad experience, considering as soon as I stepped in the restaurant I received no service none of the waiters greeted me or acknowledged my presence and I did not receive a menu until 10 minutes later when my friends arrived but alas the food experience though was amazing!
The restaurant had this winter lunch combo thing going on during the weekdays has decided to take an opportunity of this since it would only cost R100 on our pockets. We all chose option 1 which is the image above.

And added a sushi platter to share which also cost R100. So option 1 consisted of Vegetarian noodles (1st bowl), Honey tempura chicken (2nd bowl), Pork dumplings (3rd bowl), Szechuan pepper tempura zucchini (last bowl) and Tom Yum soup.

So let's go through the bad news first, I did not enjoy the taste of the soup as what it is had a nice kick to it because it is slightly spicy I did not enjoy the bitter spicy taste. At first, when I saw the super associated with childhood like somewhat tomato relish soup (Us Xhosa people refer to it as "bhisto") since they are similar in appearance except that with this soup it had prawn or chicken pieces inside depending on which one you chose but I did not enjoy it.
Why I enjoyed the rest of the options except for the zucchini strips. The vegetarian noodles were superb and the chicken had a nice crunch contrast with the honey and the pork dumplings would do fine as always! Perhaps it's the fact that I've never had zucchini I did not thoroughly enjoy the zucchini strips I like to be outside which is basically deep fried crumbs however having it all with the sweet chili dipping made it bearable and I finished all the strips I basically finish the entire meal except for the soup! And I'll judgement was off since we assumed the portions were gonna be standard Asian small that's why we got the extra sushi to share however contrary to our perceived judgement we couldn't finish all the sushi or the meals we got.

And two end of a perfect late afternoon my friend and I shared this ice-cream trio, despite being at full capacity with the food. From left, it's the vanilla ice-cream with chocolate sauce drizzled to perfection, deep-fried vanilla ice-cream drizzled in chocolate sauce and matcha flavoured icecream drizzled with chocolate sauce.
